Mache Bento with Pineapple

Brought this supplemental bento with me to work last week. Also had a ham sammie. So the pineapple went well with that. The walnuts and dark chocolate were a perfect 3 o'clock snack, and the green stuff is called mache with an accent on the e from my garden. And despite mache being a cool weather green, it is still growing out there under a first year artichoke in 98 degree spring heat!

Stanley's Friend Totoro Bento

I had a good laugh eating this lunch the other day. A young man came into the shop and said "Please don't tell me you're eating fruit salad with chopsticks."

I held up my Totoro box cover and said "You do know ToToRo?" To which he replied yes.

Then, much to the fun that is where I call work, he did the whole Totoro scene when the girl lands on his stomach.

The Sum is Greater Than The Parts Bento

Indigo rabbit bento box is so sweet and could brighten any cold foggy day. All those happy bunnies coming to work with me.

Inside we have teri chicken with strawberries and blueberries, and we have kimchee in its own little container. Love the chunky pieces!

Still doing salads. So fun to eat with chopsticks too. My chopstick skillz are improving! Rah!

How about you? Do you eat with chopsticks?

Pinwheels go round and round bento

Pinwheel bento - bread style. Also I'm being very realistic on what we fit when the cover is on. These were fun and easy. Apples and sauerkraut on the side.

Aren't they cute?

Stacked and ready to go.
Let's bento everybody!

The Reality of the Deconstructed Reuben Sandwich Bento

Deconstructed Reuben Sandwich Bento

Toasted Rye Bread and 1000 Island Dressing
Homemade Sauerkraut, Dill Pickles, and Corned Beef

Cute fork and cover over wet ingredients
Rather a bulbous bottom

The dressing was too tall, so I took it out and added a cracker.
Crackers?! You say!
First you hold down the cracker with your left paw.

Then you lick.
